Hilcorp Energy, one of the largest gas exploration and production companies in the country, recently announced their plans to reward employees after a positive year in growth. All employees – nearly 1,500 individuals – will receive $100,000 bonuses added to their paycheck at the end of the year, just in time for the holiday season.
The company’s owner Jeffery Hildebrand will be paying out more than $100 million in total. He believes it’s a great way to motivate his employees during the year. Five years ago, the company gave its employees a similar holiday bonus. They had the option of receiving a $50,000 car or $35,000 in cash.
Thanks to the input of very motivated employees, the company was able to double its output. After a profitable year for the company, Hildebrand decided to hand out checks for the holidays.
The employees are using their bonuses to retire, renovate, travel and create college funds for children. It’s no wonder Hilcorp Energy was named “one of the best companies to work for” by Fortune 100 for three years running.
